At Calwell High School the study of Languages has been an integral part of the curriculum for a number of years. As part of the Australian Curriculum it is a requirement that all year 7 and year 8 students are given the opportunity to study a language and at Calwell High School we offer Japanese. While our students explore the Japanese languages, they will also be immersed into the culture, arts, food and countries that speak these languages.
All classes are differentiated for the range in abilities, allowing all students to develop their skills no matter what stage of the language they are at. The languages program has been expanded to include a senior languages elective for year 9 and 10 for students who wish to continue their study of Japanese.
